Apple Insider has fallen from grace. They’re reporting that Apple should sell a $599 netbook thingy. Whelp. You guys are dumbasses. The iPhone is everything a netbook will be, with the exception that the netbook – when there is such a thing – will have a decent frigging network.

The iPhone does it all and then some.

One thing he gets right in the post is that Apple is not part of the PC mix anymore. Apple is apart from the PC mix.

When the stocks of Apple’s “competitors” go down, it isn’t bad for Apple. It’s because of  Apple. And there is a DOG DAMN THING the can do about it. Nothing.

Dear dumbass market analysts,

Steve Jobs has announced over and over and over and over for frigging years (YEARS) that Apple builds the whole widget.

It’s not like Apple snuck up on anyone.

If you have a company that doesn’t build the whole widget, your company is not in competition with Apple. That is not an opinion. That is a fact.

To compete with Budweiser, you must make beer.

To compete with Piggly Wiggly, you must sell groceries.

To compete with 7-11 you must sell hot dogs.

To compete with the Mustang Ranch you must sell anonymity.

To compete with Apple you must sell the whole widget.

If you don’t know what the whole widget is, you are, not to put too fine a point on it….

Microsoft needs to diversify.

Microsoft will no longer dominate the OS marketplace.

Dell needs to find a cheap Linux distro to sell with its Wally World junk boxes.

HP needs to get Microsoft to build a decently secure operating system, or REALLY get busy on a common printer driver for all of its many and varied printers on OS X. Frankly, the current printer driver system sucks.

Windows, as we currently know it, is TOAST. (fucking toast). [XP, Vista, 7, 8, Alphamega, name it....]

Windows will not be a dominant platform for very much longer. Oh sure, it will still have its adherents among bureaucrats, gamers, and the very poor and stupid, but Windows is done among the intelligentsia.

If you doubt it, go to any blog criticizing Windows. Read the defensive comments. The stupid love Windows. Windows will die. Linux will survive. Windows will become the “Operating System for the Rest of Them.” Linux will be what smart people too poor to buy a Mac on Ebay use.
