It said so in the Wall Street Journal. No source. Not even an unnamed source who spoke on condition of anonymity. No independent verification. Just the flat statement by WSJ: Steve Jobs had liver and onions and two crisp slices of bacon at a Waffle House in Memphis.
Is it true? There’s no way to know.
Did it really happen? Only his hairdresser knows for sure.
Is it any of your dogdamn business? No.
This does prove one thing though: Journalism is dead. Not sick. Not wounded. Dead.
WSJ reported unsubstantiated speculation as fact; the echosphere picked up on it. I read the WSJ piece when it hit the web, saw the lack of substantiation, and ignored it. By this afternoon, every hit-whore on the web was repeating it like it was gospel and using it as the basis for pro- and anti-Apple screeds.
This whole thing stinks to high heaven.
…
Fake Steve has a new post.
*yawn*
…
Everywhere you look somebody is typing about post-Jobs Apple. Now, though, they’re opining that Apple will be better off without Master Jobst Fimil in charge. In January, those selfsame retards were up on their back feet braying that Apple’s stock price was entirely dependent on The Master’s presence.
Apple is better now that The Master has been there. It’s better because it is sustainable in his absence which doesn’t change the fact that his presence will make a positive difference.
Or is that too complicated?
…
And now something gentle and relaxing for your Saturday evening enjoyment….
I’ll be in San Antonio, Texas Sunday night for a business conference. If anybody knows a cigar bar near on the Riverwalk let me know. I’ll be there after supper tomorrow night.

Why do you taunt me this way, Rip? I’m a 5 hour drive from the Riverwalk. I haven’t been there for… way too many years. There aren’t many things I would enjoy more on a Sunday night than enjoying a cigar or two and some bourbon with you there. (There are some things I would enjoy more, you will notice.)
Alas, I have that whole single father thing going on and Mommy’s AWOL at the moment. So I can’t come out to play.
Enjoy. The Riverwalk is so awesome this time of year.
I hate you for this. (Did I say that out loud?)
@DC
Yup. I received your other communique. Much appreciated. I would have warned everyone, but I’m unaccustomed to business travel. A cohort might have inspired me to behave badly.
As it is, I’m okay.
I found the Riverwalk to be nice, but not breathtaking.
