Tory sent this link. Another link posted by tory is probably excellent, too. I can’t open the son of a bitch, but I’m sure it’s great.

I’ve never read this Fraser Speirs guy before, but he seems like a pretty smart cookie. His post is literate, intelligent, considered, balanced, and accurate to levels I would never attempt.

In short, Fraser Speirs is the Anti-Rip.

But the real attraction is the comments. The place is awash in intelligent discourse. I didn’t read it thoroughly enough to preclude the possibility of Windows Fanboy-style illiterate flamebaiting, but I did read enough to ensure most of the comments are pretty well thought out. Consider the possibility of disagreeing viewpoints, and no name-calling.

So, yeah. Its nothing like here. Just jump over to MacDailyNews afterwards to level things out.

The Kindle has jumped the shark.

I just want to mention that David Pogue has a post about the iPad on the NY Times site. You can go find it if you want to, but it isn’t worth the effort. Dave used to be a great fanboy. Now he’s about as obsequious as a commenter can be.

Dave refuses to say what we all know: Apple just established the feature:price ratio for a portable device as close to infinity as you can. And they did it in a way that will be attractive to pipefitters, plumbers, receptionists, clerks, audiologists, veterinarians, insurance adjusters, acoustical engineers, interior designers, machinists, well drillers, crane operators, hospital orderlies, personal trainers, motivational speakers, teamsters, electricians, dry wall hangers, thoracic surgeons, carpet layers, astronauts, Miss America contestants, and garage door installers.

Side note: Kristen Blair, Miss Texas, played the role of Mary Magdalene in the same production of Jesus Christ Superstar I was in, back in 2004, in the Richland Light Opera Company. If she gets to be Miss America, I can claim to have screwed up her chances at some point in her career.

When you say intelligent discourse, is that where we comment as if not having read the article in a blatant display of sarcastic bravado? Just checking.

So when is this tablet thing supposed to go down? I thought we would have an announcement by now, but I cant seem to find any information on it anywhere on the net. I even checked my local news on television to be sure I hadnt missed the announcement. Pretty lame of Apple to create a new product with absolutely no buzz surrounding it.

On an un-related note… If a tablet is introduced, I hope that they carry the Marker Felt font throughout the entire OS and not just notes. Marker Felt is the shit!

Apple hates Adobe! (no, it’s true! see here, http://theflashblog.com/?p=1703 )

The best stuff is in the comments.

That’s the second time I’ve looked at that. Thanks. Now the thing has a huge blurb at the beginning explaining the original stupid post.

It’s a good illustration of what happens when bloggers take themselves too seriously.

At least we should never have to worry that you’re taking yourself too seriously – unless you find a way to make some money out of this.
