Did Samsung Lawyers Offer Sexual Favors in Exchange for Leniency?

Probably not, but you have to admit that’s a hell of a headline.

September 12 is only thirty-five days away. September 13 is thirty-six days away. September 14 is… Well, you get the idea.

The new iPhone will use a different connector than previous iPhones. This is causing great consternation among people who get consternated about connector sizes. I mean, come on. It’s not how long you wear it, it’s how you wear it long.

Baxtrice sent me an article today about how Microsoft lost its mojo. I read it. Microsoft’s mojo from about 1985 ’til about 1997 was entirely due to the fact that Steve Jobs was not at Apple. In 1997, His Steveness convinced Mr. Bill to pony up $150,000,000.00 in stock purchases to avoid getting his ass kicked in a lawsuit over “look and feel.” Trust me on this, Bill Gates did not donate one-hundred-fifty million simoleans to Apple because he was feeling charitable.

That was the point at which Microsoft became a second rate software company.

Note: Windows 8 is not going to save Microsoft. If your company is still tethered to the sinking mothership in Redmond, it’s time to start cutting the bow lines.

At some point I posted that Android would be dead by now. Well, obviously that hasn’t happened. At this point I don’t see it lasting into 2013 in any meaningful way. If Apple’s lawyers hand Samsung’s lawyers their balls in a box, as I fully expect them to in the San Franfrisco trial, all the other handset manufacturers are going to start looking at Windows 8 the way Barack Obama is looking at a career in motivational speaking.

Once that happens, Motorola will be the only maker of Android phones. Add to that, all the *DNE (Do No Evil) crap (maps, video) on the iPhone will be what people decide to get from the app store.

A few die-hards will cling to their DNE apps. The rest of the millions of iPhone users will use default (Apple) apps.

Android and DNE are about to be zuned.

I recommend www.duckduckgo.com as a search engine. Very clean. Lot’s of good results.

*DNE has been added to the Glossary. We will no longer use the homonym for the numerical value represented by a one followed by one-hundred zeroes, on Rip Ragged.
