I just downloaded iTunes 11. I installed it. The whole thing took less time than it took to go the the bathroom, get a glass of wine from the kitchen, and find another package of printer paper in the garage – not sure how long that was. 5 minutes or less.
I sat back, clicked the button that said I agree to the End User License Agreement (which, for all I know, might require me to shave my head and take acid), and spent upwards of 10 seconds figuring out how to make it look more or less like it did before because I liked SoundJam and I never want it to completely die. The miniplayer looks different and has some useful improvements.
Right now, Steve Winwood – Spanish Dancer is playing the same as it did with version 10.
Also, as near as I can tell, Van Morrison – Caravan played just exactly the same as it used to.
To make a long review short: It works. It didn’t baffle me. It didn’t even cost me a significant hit (in terms of Facebook time) figuring out how to make it do what I’ve decided it should do.
That’s as close as I get to a five-star rating.

My taste in music has been called eclectic by polite people. Actually, even polite people think its’ weird.

Rip,
Where’d you meet any polite people? How’d you communicate with them?
What? I meet and communicate with polite people all the time. I speak plain English to them. If they don’t like it, I tell them to fuck off. They seem to get that okay. Polite people are fine if you can get them to just say their piece and go away.
